Jeremy speaks on Maritime Dispute Resolution, Bar Council, 24 January 2014

Kuala Lumpur - The Shipping and Admiralty Law Committee of the Malaysian Bar Council & the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration organized a half day maritime event called "Maritime Dispute Resolution in Malaysia : Riding the Waves". The aim of the event was to promote maritime dispute resolution in Malaysia and bring the the market up to speed on what is happening in Malaysia in particular on developments pertaining to the Admiralty Court and Maritime Arbitration. The event was graced by the Admiralty Judge, Justice Nallini Pathmanathan, who gave a great opening address and two speakers (including our partner, Jeremy Joseph). Jeremy spoke on "Malaysia a viable alternative in Asia for Maritime Dispute Resolution." He said what we are seeing a rise of shipping disputes because a giant wave us coming through Asia. It is time for Malaysians to "get out their surf boards and ride the wave." There was also an expert panel including the KLRCA Director, Dato' Sundra Rajoo, who answered questions.
